 For taking admission in Diploma courses candidates must be a minimum age of 17 years at the time of applying for the admission and there is no upper age limitation for applying in Diploma courses. The candidate must have been passed 10 th with minimum 55 percentage and main subjects must be Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry from the recognised board. There are so many Polytechnic Entrance exams such as Delhi CET, AP Polycet, JEE up, BCECE, Jharkhand PECE, TS POLYCET, Odisha DET etc. The candidates can take admission to Diploma in engineering through an Entrance exams or through Direct admission. The candidates who qualify the entrance exams will be further called for the counseling process.

The counseling process can be either done through the institute based counseling or through centralised counseling. After attending counseling candidates must have to verified their documents and pay the admission fee to complete the admission process. For direct admission, the candidates will have to fulfill the application form as per the norms of respective institute,visit the college campus and verified their documents after that pay admission fee to secure their seat in a particular college.
